  • Daniel Dumas

    Daniel Dumas, Chief Executive Officer

    Mr. Dumas established Dumas Contracting Ltd. in 1994 and has since lead the company to become a specialized international mining contractor and one of Canada’s great business success stories.

    Mr. Dumas has a strong diversified background in underground mining operations, finance and business development. An industry leader and an innovative thinker, Mr. Dumas continues to be involved with many publically listed mining companies.

    Mr. Dumas holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Mining Engineering from New Mexico Tech. He presently holds Professional Engineering Licenses in Ontario and several other Provinces.

  • Andy Fearn

    Andy Fearn, Chief Operating Officer

    Mr. Fearn leads all aspects of Dumas' domestic and international operations, estimating and business development portfolios. Mr. Fearn is a professional engineer with more than 28 years experience within the global underground mining contracting industry, having successfully lead domestic and international mining contracting operations, safety management, engineering and technical services teams throughout his career. Mr. Fearn has overseen projects in North East and Central Asia, the United-States, Latin America, Mongolia and Tanzania.

    Mr. Fearn holds a Master of Science in mining engineering from Queen’s University, a Bachelor of Science and ACSM from Camborne School of Mines. He presently holds Professional Engineering Licences in Ontario and several other Provinces. He also holds a Chartered Engineering Licence in the United Kingdom.

  • Owen Davies, Chief Financial Officer

    Mr. Davies brings a wealth of experience in building, leading and advising mining service corporations through business expansions and capital market transactions.

    Mr. Davies was previously CFO and Executive Vice President of The Procon Group of Companies, where he was responsible for the areas of treasury, capital markets, strategic initiatives and corporate restructuring. Prior to Procon, Mr. Davies was Assistant Vice President, Corporate Finance and Investment Banking, at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

    Mr. Davies is a chartered accountant with more than 11 years experience in the mining and investment banking sectors.

  • Chris Hickey

    Chris Hickey, Vice President

    Mr. Hickey is responsible for all elements of Dumas' international operations. A Mining Engineer with more than 30 years of international mining contracting experience, Mr. Hickey brings to the Dumas team, extensive expertise in directing international mining contracting operations.

    Prior to joining Dumas, Mr. Hickey completed a lengthy career with The Redpath Group. Mr. Hickey has broad international experience extending from greenfield exploration projects to large production complexes, covering all aspects of underground mine development and construction in challenging geographic locations.

    Mr. Hickey holds a Bachelor of Science (Mining Engineering) from Queens University and a Mining Technician Diploma from Haileybury School of Mines.

  • Larry Zuccherato

    Larry Zuccherato, Vice President

    Mr. Zuccherato oversees all aspects of estimating, technical services, cost control and invoicing. With more than 30 years of mining contracting experience, he has led estimating and business development departments to deliver a wide variety of domestic and international engineering and mine construction projects for major mining companies.

    Mr. Zuccherato’s knowledge and experience in all key facets of the mining industry makes him a valuable asset for tender development, proposal submissions, contract formalization and administration, project management and cost control.

    Mr. Zuccherato is a graduate of the Haileybury School of Mines and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.

  • Greg Hart

    Greg Hart, Vice President

    Mr. Hart is responsible for business development, client relations and key projects within Canada. In addition, Mr. Hart is involved with operations and estimating, and is responsible for the maintenance facility and equipment fleet.

    With more than 30 years of management and technical underground mining experience, Mr. Hart has overseen numerous shaft, mechanized raising, construction, ramp and lateral development projects. He has also had direct involvement in tender work, contract negotiations and implementation, audit progress, schedule and budget monitoring.

    Mr. Hart holds all relevant underground mining accreditations and is a Certified Alimak Specialist and an Instructor for the Ontario Ministry of Labour on Mechanized Raising.

  • Wayne Mohns

    Wayne Mohns, General Manager, Ontario and Western Canada

    Mr. Mohns oversees all elements of Dumas' operations across Ontario and Western Canada. Mr. Mohns is a professional engineer with more than 25 years of experience in mine contracting, operations and mine management. Prior to Dumas, Mr. Mohns held several senior management positions with The Redpath Group, Xstrata Nickel, Homestake, Barrick and Teck-Cominco. Mr. Mohns has varied operational and management experience in contracting, mine operation, process improvement, strategic planning and team building.

    Mr. Mohns holds a Bachelor of Science (Mining Engineering) from Queen’s University. He also holds a Civil Technology qualification from Ryerson University, and a Professional Engineering License in Ontario.

  • Denis Blais

    Denis Blais, General Manager, Quebec and Eastern Canada

    Mr. Blais is responsible for all facets of Dumas' operations across Quebec and Eastern Canada. Mr. Blais has more than 35 years of international experience acquired with large mining companies and within the mining services industry.

    Prior to Dumas, Mr. Blais was General Manager and Vice President with American Pacific S.A. in Honduras, Central America. Additionally, Mr. Blais has worked across Canada and within India, the Philippines, Greece, Peru, Chile, Honduras and the United States of America, in management and senior management positions with J.S. Redpath Group and Ross Finlay.

    Mr. Blais holds numerous underground mining certificates including Mine Rescue and Mine Management certificates.

  • Rick Guillemette

    Rick Guillemette, Vice President

    Mr. Guillemette leads Dumas’ corporate sustainability portfolio, including health and safety, environment, communications, and aboriginal relations. Mr. Guillemette has been involved in the mining industry for 20 years including previously being a Mining Inspector for the Ontario Ministry of Labour’s Health and Safety enforcement branch.

    Mr. Guillemette has been instrumental in developing an industry recognized health and safety management program at Dumas, as well as leading the human resources department. Mr. Guillemette continues to collaborate with industry peers in Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba for the improvement of health and safety in the mining industry. He is a Director of the Mines Accident Prevention Association of Manitoba and a past Director of the Ontario and Quebec Mine Contractors Safety Associations.

  • Stephen McGinn

    Stephen McGinn, Director of Human Resources

    Mr. McGinn is responsible for all areas of human resources across Canada and internationally. He is a Human Resources Management specialist with more than 15 years experience in human resources, general management and consulting. Prior to joining Dumas, Mr. McGinn was Vice President of Operations with Kivalliq Marine Transportation Services and has previously held the position of National Manager of Human Resources and Corporate Chief Privacy Officer for Black & McDonald.

    Mr. McGinn holds an Executive Masters Degree in Human Resources from York University, a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Sociology from Laurentian University, and a Law and Security Administration diploma from Cambrian College.

  • Gaétan Malette

    Gaétan Malette, Director of Aboriginal Relations

    Mr. Malette is responsible for Dumas' aboriginal relations portfolio. Mr. Malette has more than 35 years experience within the resources sector including extensive experience in operations management, negotiations, strategic planning and building relationships with isolated communities and First Nations. Prior to Dumas, Mr. Malette held executive positions with forestry leaders Tembec, E.B. Eddy and Domtar.

    Mr. Malette is a Commissioner of the Ontario Northland Transportation Committee and a member of the Northern Development Council, reporting to the Minister of Northern Development and Mines.
