Mr. Huffman joined Dumas in 2018 and has held numerous senior operational roles in that time, most recently Chief Operating Officer and formerly Vice President of Operations. He brings an extensive portfolio of mining knowledge to Dumas with over 20 years of progressive mine operations management experience serving as Underground Mine Manager at a 5000 tpd operation in Canada prior to joining Dumas. This diverse experience brings the ability to visualize and understand the business from both an owner and contractor perspective and is what fosters the desire to ensure client relationships and a unified, collaborative service model are front and center in the way Dumas operates.
Mr. Huffman is a strong advocate for Health & Safety, first and foremost, and is dedicated to ensuring each employee is provided the education, training, and work environment to perform their duties and return home safely each day.
A relentless driver of continuous improvement, he brings an extremely analytical approach to monitoring, adjusting, and controlling projects. His passion for analyzing and creating high standards of Project Controls and overall business results instills an expectation to operate under a culture of data and information, supported by current technologies. He holds great value and priority in the precision of this side of the business.
Mr. Huffman graduated from the Haileybury School of Mines Mining Engineering Technology Program, completed a technical diploma in Civil/Construction Engineering in Ottawa, Ontario and attained his Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Athabasca University. He is a registered Project Management Professional (PMP).
