When Dumas purchased L&L in early November 2010, L&L were already engaged in the construction of the Jacob Timmers Shaft in the District of Huayllay, Province of Cerro de Pasco. This is a 585 meter deep concrete lined shaft with a finished diameter of 4.4 meters.
The Jacob Timmers Shaft project is particularly challenging due to a shaft collar elevation of 4,636 meters AMSL. Sinking is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2012, and will be followed by loading pocket excavation and construction.
Since the acquisition of L&L by Dumas, over 100 meters of shaft have been excavated with no Lost Time Incidents.
